- 1/2 tsp urad dal
- 1/2 tsp chana dal

Method
- In a mixing bowl, add instant rice, semolina, yogurt, and water. Mix well to form a smooth batter.
- Add baking soda and salt to the batter and mix well.
- In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, chana dal, and asafoetida. Fry for a few seconds.
- Add green chili and fry for a few more seconds.
- Add the tempering to the batter and mix well.
- Add coriander leaves and mix well.
- Grease the idli plates with oil and pour the batter into the plates.
- Steam the idlis for 10-12 minutes or until they are cooked through.
- Remove the idli plates from the steamer and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Remove the idlis from the plates using a knife or spoon and serve hot with chutney or sambar.
Notes
- Make sure to mix the batter well to avoid any lumps.
- Do not overcook the idlis as they may become hard.
- You can add vegetables like grated carrots or chopped spinach to the batter to make it more nutritious.
