- 1 cup basmati rice
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup ghee
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup cashews
- 1/4 cup almonds
- 1/4 cup pistachios
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tsp saffron threads

- Wooden spoon

Method
- Wash the basmati rice in cold water, and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- Drain the water from the rice and set it aside.
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the ghee over medium heat.
- Add the cashews, almonds, and pistachios to the pan and fry them until golden brown. Remove them from the pan and set them aside.
- Add the raisins to the same pan and fry them until they become plump. Remove them from the pan and set them aside.
- Add the rice to the same pan and fry it for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add 2 cups of water to the pan and bring it to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan with a lid. Let the rice cook for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, add the sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron threads to the pan. Mix well.
- Close the lid and cook for another 10 minutes on low heat.
- After 10 minutes, turn off the heat and let the rice sit for 5 minutes.
- Open the lid, add the fried nuts and raisins to the pan, and mix well.
- Your Indian Sweet Rice is ready to serve. Enjoy!

- Make sure to wash the rice well, and soak it for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Add the sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron threads only after the rice has cooked for 10 minutes.
