Ingredients

Method

  1. Wash the rice in cold water and soak it in water for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a large pot and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.

  4. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.

  7. Add soaked rice, and saute for 2-3 minutes until the rice is coated with spices.
  8. Add water and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it cook for 20-25 minutes until the rice is cooked and all the water is absorbed.
  9. Turn off the heat and let the pulao rest for 5-10 minutes.
  10. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.

  • You can add chicken or meat to this recipe if you prefer non-vegetarian pulao.
