Method

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot with a lid, and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid has been absorbed. 4. Once the rice is cooked, remove the cinnamon stick and cardamom pods. 5. Use a wooden spoon to mix and mash the rice until it becomes creamy and smooth. 6. Spoon the milk rice into a serving dish and let it cool for a few minutes. For the sambol: 1. In a bowl, mix the chopped onion, green chilies, lime juice, and salt. 2. Serve the sambol with the milk rice.

- You can add more or less coconut milk depending on your preference for creaminess. - The sambol can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
