Equipment
- Mixing bowl - Spoon - Pot - Strainer
Method
1. In a mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour and water. Mix until a dough forms. 2. If you want colored rice balls, divide the dough into portions and add food coloring to each portion. Mix well. 3. Take a small piece of dough and flatten it in your hand. Place a small amount of sweet filling in the center of the dough. 4. Carefully pinch the edges of the dough together to seal the filling inside. Roll the dough between your palms to form a ball. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling. 5. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the rice balls and cook for about 5-10 minutes or until they float to the surface. 6. While the rice balls are cooking, prepare the sweet syrup. In a pot, combine water, brown sugar, and pandan leaves. Bring to a boil and simmer until the sugar has dissolved and the syrup has thickened slightly. 7. Remove the pandan leaves from the syrup. 8. Serve the glutinous rice balls in bowls with the sweet syrup poured over them.
Notes
