Equipment

Method
- Begin by rinsing the brown rice in cold water until the water runs clear. This will help remove any dirt or debris that may be present.

- Add the chopped bell pepper to the pot and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Add the rinsed brown rice to the pot and stir well to combine with the vegetables.
- Add the can of red kidney beans to the pot, including the liquid. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
- Add the salt, black pepper, paprika, and cumin to the pot. Stir well to distribute the spices.
- Pour in the 2 cups of water and stir again. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a lid. Allow the rice and beans to simmer for 45-50 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and the liquid has been absorbed.
